The Redbird Nation has come together to help raise funds and awareness for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois and Missouri during the week of May 25.
On Wednesday, May 27, law enforcement officers will be on site hosting a “Spare Change for Real Change” event outside the Cardinals Nation restaurant. That night, 400 Special Olympics athletes will have the opportunity to experience the joy of attending a Major League baseball game thanks to donated tickets by Cardinals Care.
On Thursday, May 28, from 5-8 p.m., officers will return to Cardinals Nation restaurant to host a Tip-A-Cop event. Finally, on Saturday, May 30, 50 athletes from Special Olympics Illinois andMissouriwill play ball from 9 to 10:30 a.m. during an on-field clinic with the St. Louis Cardinals thanks to the efforts of Coca-Cola and Shop `n Save. Illinois Congressman Rodney Davis, St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and St. Louis Health Acting Director Melba Moore will be on hand to welcome athletes to Busch Stadium.
