This update is from the Edgar County Highway Department’s Facebook page:
“After several inches of rain have fell over Edgar County in the past few days, the Edgar County Highway Dept. has been out on the roads and is monitoring localized flooding locations. As of right now, there are no road closures on the County Highway system, and there are only a small number of County Highways with ponding on the roadways. The County Highways located inside of the Villages of Brocton, Metcalf, and Kansas are the most affected as of right now. The remainder of the County system is passable, but has spotty areas of ponding on the edges of the roadways.
With rain still working its way across Edgar County today, we will continue to be out patrolling the roads and keeping an eye on the rapidly changing road conditions. Drivers are urged to use caution when travelling, and avoid driving through any standing water. We also urge drivers, TO STAY OFF OF ANY RURAL ROADS AFTER DARK, due to the high likelihood of unexpected water ponding.”
