According to WTHI, a new study by AAA is predicting a record 43 million people will be traveling over Independence Day weekend. That’s an increase of half a million more than 2015. 36 million of these travelers will drive to their destination. This record number could be due to low gas prices. A gallon of regular gasoline is, on average, 45 cents lower than Independence Day 2015. This is the lowest gas prices have been in eleven years. In addition to drivers, an estimated 3.43 million people are expected to fly to their destination, an increase of more than two percent.
