A new tax on strip clubs in Illinois is making money for the state. The “Southern Illinoisan” reports the Live Adult Entertainment Facility Surcharge tax, which took effect in 2013, has brought in about one-point-four-million dollars. Part of the revenue goes to women’s crisis centers in the state, although agency officials told the newspaper they’re not getting as much money as they expected.
