An analysis of state spending obtained by The Associated Press shows that Illinois is on track to blow an $8 billion hole in its budget. The review by the legislative Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability provided to the AP today in advance of general release reflects the deal that Governor Bruce Rauner and Democrats who control the Legislature worked out last month. The report was requested by Representative David McSweeney, a Republican who voted against the budget deal.
