According to a Recent Press Release from the Illinois State Police, District 10 Police Officers will be joining forces with Agencies statewide for a 2016 Illinois Speed Awareness Day Campaign.
2016 Illinois Speed Awareness Day is Wednesday, July 27th and troopers from District 10 will be taking proactive approaches to promote safety for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. These will be conducted in both educational and enforcement means.
Troopers will also be participating in extra enforcement patrols on the 27th including Air Speed, LIDAR Details, and Radar Details. These will be on State and U.S. Highways, as well as county roads, city streets , and interstates running through District 10 which include: I-57, I-72, and I-74.
Illinois State Police are asking everyone to do their part in taking a proactive approach to prevent fatalities and reduce injuries while on the roadways, which one can do by being aware of their speed and following all speed limits at all times.
