At tonight’s meeting of the Charleston City Council, council members will vote to authorize Coles County Clerk Sue Rennels to close her office to non-voting services the day before the upcoming November elections. Rennels says record turnout is possible because of high interest in a hotly contested presidential race and the move would allow them to accomedate the high voter turnout.
