Cheerleaders File Class-Action Against The NFL
(San Francisco, CA) — Professional cheerleaders are suing the NFL. The class-action suit filed in San Francisco yesterday claims cheerleaders often get paid less than minimum wage and the league conspires with teams to pay women below market value. In addition to the NFL, the suit also specifically names the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers. Previously-filed cheerleaders suits are pending against individual teams, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. Just last week, the New York Jets settled a lawsuit filed by cheerleaders in 2014 for 324-thousand-dollars.
