Two people are hospitalized following an accident in Jasper County. According to the Illinois State Police, a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Wayne Belford, of Oblong was traveling east on Jasper County 400th Avenue when his vehicle went airborne, exited the roadway, struck a ditch and several trees and shrubs. The vehicle rolled multiple times into a field. One passenger, Nicole Belford, was ejected from the vehicle. She was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Another passenger, Lisa Allen, was airlifted to Carle Foundation Hospital. The driver was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage, aggravated reckless driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
