Wedding Bell Blues? Not In Vegas Where Chapels Churn Out Brides And Grooms
(Las Vegas, NV) — Besides the gaming tables and slot machines, the real action in Las Vegas is taking place at wedding chapels. People are packing Strip wedding chapels ahead of Valentine’s Day. Some 15-hundred to 17-hundred couples are expected to tie the knot leading up to Valentine’s Day, according to the Marriage License Bureau for Clark County, Nevada. What makes Vegas so popular for weddings? It’s where Elvis and Priscilla Presley got hitched. And Angelina Jolie also said ‘I do’ there with Billy Bob Thornton. Marriages are big business, Nevada officials say wedding tourism rakes in about two-billion dollars annually with four-percent of the 40 million visitors to Las Vegas renewing vows or getting married.
