Ed Werder Among First In ESPN Layoffs
(Bristol, CT) — The ax is beginning to fall in ESPN’s most recent round of layoffs. Several personalities took to Twitter today to announce they are no longer employed by the sports network giant. Longtime NFL reporter Ed Werder was among the first to announce he was being let go. Werder’s announcement comes on the eve of the NFL draft and after 17 years reporting on the NFL for ESPN. Others include NHL columnist Scott Burnside, Tennessee Titans reporter Paul Kuharsky, college basketball reporter Dana O’Neil, and ESPNU anchor Brendan Fitzgerald. The company is reportedly getting rid of 100 anchors, reporters, analysts and production staffers.
