Testifying yesterday in the case of the crash of the T-town team bus in February, an investigator said he found a partially empty bottle of vodka, and empty bottle of whiskey, and two pill bottles in the van that hit the bus. According to officials, one of the pill bottles had a straw with white residue on it, while the other contained prescription medication. The driver, Scarlett McKinzie, of Mattoon, had a blood alcohol content of .25 percent, and also tested positive for cocaine. McKinzie is charged with three counts of driving under the influence with no insurance, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, transporting alcohol while driving, failure to obey a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She did not testify yesterday.
