(Carlstadt, NJ) — Crews at the scene of a deadly small jet crash near Teterboro Airport in New Jersey say they can’t rule out victims on the ground from this afternoon’s accident. But so far, the only known deaths are the two crew members aboard. The crash scene is in an area full of industrial businesses. The Learjet 35 went down walking distance from the runways at Teterboro.
At least one business at the crash site had let workers off for the day minutes before the jet came down. People working nearby say they heard a “giant boom” from the crash. Some thought a gas line had blown up.
