(Providence, RI) — Vice President Mike Pence is making a strong pitch for the revised Senate Republican healthcare bill. The bill could be taken up next week. Speaking at a National Governors Association meeting in Rhode Island yesterday, Pence said Obamacare is “imploding” and insisted that “help is on the way.” The VP argued that Obamacare has prompted a real healthcare crisis in America and must be repealed and replaced. He said the Senate bill will help put the U.S. back on a path to “better, more affordable healthcare.” Some Republican governors are skeptical about the bill because of deep cuts in Medicaid. Pence said the measure would actually strengthen and secure Medicaid.
