Senate Faces Noon Deadline On School Funding
(Springfield, IL) — Time is running out for Illinois senators to avoid another special session. Governor Rauner on Friday announced that if the Senate doesn’t send him their school funding plan by noon today, he’ll call them into a special session. The governor wants to change the plan, and give lawmakers time to react before school starts. Senate Democrats say the governor needs to just sign the new law and allow Illinois schools to open on time.
