Illinois Budgets Helps Illinois University Credit
(Springfield, IL) — Illinois’ public universities are the latest to get a slight bump from the new state budget. S&P Global Ratings yesterday upgraded the credit for Southern Illinois University, Governors State University, Northeastern Illinois University, and Eastern Illinois University because the new state budget provides money for the schools. None of the universities have what would be called good credit, but the upgrade spares all four from being downgraded to junk status.
