(Chicago, IL) — There was no action on school funding during today’s special legislative session and there’s not likely to be any action tomorrow, even though a bill is ready to sign. While there were no votes, there was another plea from Governor Rauner for Senate President John Cullerton to send him the funding reform bill lawmakers passed about two months ago. Rauner told Cullerton to “do your homework” and stop hiding the bill lawmakers already passed. Cullerton said he’ll send Rauner the bill Monday, but that will cut down on the time Rauner has to make the changes he wants, then get the bill through the General Assembly in time to get money to schools on the regular schedule.
