“Go Purp” License Plate Must Go Bye-Bye
(Arcola, IL) — An Arcola family dedicated to the Purple Riders is getting a shocking lesson in what their license plate insinuates. An elderly couple has covered their home in purple everything for nearly 20 years. They say it’s to show pride for the Arcola High School Purple Riders. The couple was shocked when they received a call from the state about their license plate which said “GO PURP.” The state informed them of a complaint and said it will not renew the plates with that name. Apparently someone complained because GO PURP can be considered a high strain of marijuana.
