Former Illinois Governor Maintains Innocence As He Serves Federal Sentence
(Englewood, CO) — Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has gone from overseeing the fifth biggest state in America to cleaning responsibilities for two floors of a federal prison in Colorado. The former two-term Democratic governor is entering his sixth year behind bars stemming from a corruption case that took him down. Blagojevich adamantly maintains he did nothing wrong and says he’s managed not to become bitter about his plight. He tells Chicago’s WMAQ-TV he takes one day at a time and has a purpose. Blagojevich is scheduled to be released in 2024.
