(Washington, DC) — Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the U.S. wants a peaceful solution to the North Korean nuclear threat. But the United States chief diplomat says a military option is a last resort if diplomacy fails. Interviewed on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Tillerson says the current U.S. campaign strategy involves peaceful pressure on Pyongyang. Tillerson says the campaign involves putting together an international coalition that sends a message to North Korea to come to the table for constructive dialogue. Tillerson’s comments follow the North Koreans launch of a ballistic missile fired over Japan last Friday.
