(Chicago, IL) — A Cubs World Series ring that was up for sale is no longer on the auction block. The “Sun Times” reports the auction site Lelands.com took the ring down following a request by team officials. Bidding was scheduled to close October 27th. Cubs spokesman Julian Green says the scout who tried to sell the jewelry is no longer with the franchise. When handing out the rings in April, the team issued a memo to non-players saying they reserve the right to buy the majority of the rings back for one-dollar.
