(Sutherland Springs, TX) — Police say hundreds of shell casings have been recovered from the site of yesterday’s shooting at a church in Sutherland Springs in Texas. In an evening press conference, Freeman Martin of the Texas Department of Public Safety remarked that more than a dozen empty gun magazines were also collected. He also said the shooter was shot three times. Two of the shots hit him in the leg and torso, and came from the man who opened fire on him as he attempted to flee. Martin said the final shot was consistent with a self-inflicted wound.
Martin stated that the death toll remains at 26. That number includes the unborn child of a pregnant woman killed in the attack.
