U Of I Wants 98 Million More, Most For Higher Salaries
(Urbana, IL) — The University of Illinois is getting ready to ask state lawmakers for 100 million-dollars more next year, with almost 70-percent of the new money going toward professors’ paychecks. University trustees are expected to vote on the idea next week. The U of I’s executive vice president for academic affairs says they’ve only been able to offer three-percent raises over the past two years, and that puts the school at a disadvantage.
