Two people were taken to the hospital following an accident near Effingham yesterday. According to the Illinois State Police, a car driven by Stephen Robbins, of Rantoul, and a tractor-trailer driven by Muhammad Siraad, of Minnesota came together and made contact near the center lane line on I-57 at mile post 160. After impact, Robbins’ vehicle went off the road and struck a guardrail. Robbins and passenger, Anna Schuster, also of Rantoul, were transported to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.
