Two people were injured in an accident near Effingham yesterday. According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Blayne Davis, of Stewardson was southbound on Route 32 when he collided with a vehicle driven by 77-year-old Clyde Shamhart, of Beecher City, which was traveling west of Route 33. Each was taken to St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. Davis was ticketed for disobeying a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
