The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect until 9 PM CST this evening.
* TIMING…Strong winds developing in west central Illinois around noon, and spreading into east central Illinois by late afternoon.
* WINDS…20 to 30 mph northwest winds with gusts to around 45 mph
* IMPACTS…Difficult driving conditions especially for high profile vehicles, as well as damage to small tree limbs. Lightweight objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans may be blown around.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph or gusts to 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
