(Chicago, IL) — Illinois Attorney Lisa Madigan is joining her colleagues from across the country to challenge the FCC’s decision to eliminate net neutrality rules. Madigan’s spokeswoman Annie Thompson says that without net neutrality rules, Internet service providers will be able to block or slow down access to content for their own commercial reasons. She says legal action is needed to protect a free and open Internet. Madigan and more than a dozen attorneys general are also concerned that millions of online comments supporting the FCC plan came from hacked emails.
