University of Illinois Extension will be offering Master Gardener training in the Effingham office, beginning January 23, 2018. Individuals wishing to be trained as a Master Gardener become horticulture volunteers for University of Illinois Extension.
The Master Gardener program is open to adults with an interest in ornamental gardening, fruits and vegetables, plants, and a desire to share knowledge with others. Classes will be offered from 9 am to 4 pm every Tuesday for 10 weeks. Extension Educators and State Specialists, with University of Illinois. will provide webinar based training. Registration for the 10-week program is $145 for the class which includes a Master Gardener manual and program activity supplies. Attendance is required each week to graduate from the program.
