Illinois’ New Legislative Inspector To Look At Some Statehouse Complaints
(Springfield, IL) — Illinois’ new legislative inspector general says about a third of the harassment complaints at the statehouse deserve a bit more attention. Julie Porter yesterday sent a letter to state lawmakers saying that she wants to review ten of the 27 complaints than languished at the statehouse for years. She says they ‘warrant further consideration.’ Porter did not say how many of the cases deal with sexual harassment or lawmakers, just that the complaints fall to her office to review.
