Judge Won’t Block New Illinois Abortion Law
(Springfield, IL) — A central Illinois judge isn’t stopping the state’s new abortion law. Sangamon County Judge Jennifer Ascher yesterday said questions about funding and the timeline for the new law are ‘political questions.’ Pro-life lawmakers say they’ll appeal the ruling. They want to stop the law which Governor Rauner signed back in August, that will have taxpayers pay for abortions for state employees and people enrolled in Medicaid in Illinois.
