A deadly outbreak of E. coli has killed two and sickened at least sixty people in more than a dozen states, including Illinois. Consumer Reports says romaine lettuce is to blame. The bacteria killed one person in the U.S. and another in Canada.
The Centers for Disease Control says because it’s so widespread, they can’t pinpoint where it’s coming from. So there are no recalls of the lettuce in stores. But there is a simple solution: don’t eat romaine lettuce.
