Kleenex, Huggies Makers Slashes 5,000 Jobs And Closes 10 Factories
(Irving, TX) — The makers of Kleenex and Huggies is slashing about five-thousand jobs and ten factories this year. Kimberly-Clark announced today that in an effort to cut costs as sales wane, it will cut roughly 14-percent of its global workforce. Kimberly-Clark CEO Thomas Falk anticipates a two-billion-dollar reduction in costs by 20-21 which he believes will improve “underlying profitability.” Falk says increased competition and decreasing prices at Amazon and Walmart have forced the company into reducing its workforce.
