Flood Watch in effect through 6am Wednesday, Feb 21 for:
Christian-Coles-Shelby-Cumberland-Clark-Effingham-Jasper-Crawford- Clay-Richland-Fayette and Lawrence counties. This also includes Piatt-Champaign-Vermilion–Moultrie-Douglas and Edgar counties, from the Flood Watch earlier.
* Rain will become more widespread across the area this evening, and continue most of the night. Additional accumulation of 1.5 to 2 inches are expected through tonight.
* This additional rainfall will cause flooding of area rivers and streams across central through east central Illinois.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
