CDC: Flu Still Widespread, Adds 13 More Pediatric Deaths
(Atlanta, GA) — The worst flu season in a decade is claiming more lives. The CDC reports there were 13 new flu-related pediatric deaths last week bringing the total to 97 this season. According to the center, the flu remains widespread in 48 states, but says the number of people visiting doctors for flu-like symptoms dropped last week. The CDC adds the vaccines are about 25-percent less effective at preventing the flu, but still believe shots are still worth-while.
