Illinois Confirms New Legionnaires Case From Illinois Capitol Complex
(Springfield, IL) — Illinois’ latest Legionnaires patient is someone who visited the State Capitol complex in January. The Illinois Department of Public Health on Saturday confirmed the illness, but did not say which building in Springfield that the person visited. IDPH officials say they are also looking into the hotel where the patient stayed. Illinois is trying to get a handle on Legionnaires disease at state facilities. The capitol complex, the Chester mental health center, and of course the veterans home in Quincy are all dealing with the disease and confirmed cases where people got sick.
