(San Francisco, CA) — Fake news on Twitter travels fast. A study conducted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology shows false stories on Twitter travel six times faster and reach more people than the truth. Researchers looked at 126-thousand stories on Twitter since 2006. The results showed fake stories were more likely to go viral. The cause revealed people love outlandish and novel stories, which are more likely to be showcased on social media.
