(Palo Alto, CA) — Tesla is recalling thousands of cars because of a power steering issue. The recall affects 123-thousand Model S cars built before April 2016. The issue is “excessive corrosion” in power steering bolts, which could make the car more difficult to steer. It’s not an issue that should affect control at higher speeds. So far, Tesla has only found the problem in cars used in cold climates where road salts are used, but it’s recalling all cars out of an abundance of caution.
