Another Ogunbowale Makes Notre Dame Women National Champs
(Columbus, OH) — Of course Notre Dame’s women’s basketball team had to win on a last second shot. And of course, Arike Ogunbowale was the one to make it. Ogunbowale sunk a three-pointer as time expired last night to give Notre Dame the 61-58 win over Mississippi State in the NCAA Women’s National Championship game. The shot is just Ogunbowale’s latest buzzer beater. The win is Notre Dame’s first women’s college basketball championship since 2001, and is coach Muffet McGraw’s 800th win at the school.
