(United Nations) — The UN Security Council is voting against a Russian resolution condemning the U.S.-led air strikes in Syria. The vote came during an emergency meeting today after U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley insisted that the strikes were a justified and proportionate reaction to a chemical weapons attack attributed to Syria’s government. She also conveyed a message from President Trump, saying the U.S. is “locked and loaded” if Syria chooses to use chemical weapons again. Russian officials are blasting the United States, France, and Britain for what they say is a disregard for international law.
