A Springfield woman faces multiple charges following an incident with a Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy. According to the Illinois State Police, 18-year-old Adrianna Brown-Gibson had been stopped on Route 40. When she fled the scene, the deputy became entangled in the vehicle. The deputy was dragged for an undermined amount of distance and then fell out of the vehicle. Brown-Gibson was charged with fleeing and eluding; failure to give aid; uninsured motor vehicle; speeding; driver’s license not on person; hit and run; reckless driving; aggravated battery to a police officer; aggravated assault; obstructing justice; reckless conduct; and possession of cannabis. The deputy was air-lifted to Barnes Jewish Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
