(Norristown, PA) — Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele says “Today justice was done.” Speaking to reporters after Bill Cosby was found guilty in his sexual assault trial, Steele added money and power won’t stop his team from investigating and getting to the truth. The entertainer was accused by Andrea Constand of drugging and sexually assaulting her at his Philadelphia home in 2004. Cosby faces a maximum prison sentence of ten years per count. Steele pointed to what he called a key turning point in the case, the release of a deposition that a judge said showed the “stark contrast” between Cosby the public moralist and Cosby the man accused of improper and possibly illegal conduct.
Steele reminded his audience not to forget Constand was the first person to stand up and accuse Cosby. He said her courage and resilience in the face of personal attacks “has been inspiring to all of us.”

The 80-year-old Cosby was convicted today by a 12-member jury of three counts of aggravated indecent assault. Allred credited the jury for believing the women and looking past the defense’s “lies” and yelled that “justice has been done.”
Allred read statements from three other women who accused Cosby. One called it a victory for womanhood. But she said this was the story of Constand, who accused Cosby of drugging and assaulting her at his Philadelphia home in 2004. She said she took the risk against a rich, powerful and famous man.
