Boy Scouts Get A Name Change To Include Girls
(Irving, TX) — The Boy Scouts of America is changing the name of its flagship program. The name “Boy Scouts” will become “Scouts BSA” in February of next year as the program will start allowing girls to join. The parent organization will remain “The Boy Scouts of America” and the Cub Scouts program, which is for seven-to-ten-year-olds, will also keep its name. Girls are already able to join Cub Scouts. The organization has also launched its “Scout Me In” program, which aims to welcome boys and girls into scouting in communities across the country. More than three-thousand girls nationwide have enrolled in the BSA’s Early Adopter Program and are participating in Cub Scouts ahead of the full launch later this year.
