(Auburn Hills, MI) — Fiat Chrysler is recalling nearly five million vehicles in the U.S. over a cruise control issue. The company says in rare situations, drivers may not be able to turn off the cruise control. It can happen if the cruise control accelerates the same time an electrical-short-circuit occurs. Shifting the vehicle into park will cancel the cruise control, but tapping the brakes or turning off the cruise control button won’t. The recall includes 15 Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Ram models from 2014 to 2018. Fiat Chrysler will begin notifying customers next week. In the meantime their telling owners not to use cruise control until it can be fixed.
