The Mattoon VFW will hold Memorial Day services in Janesville, at 8:00 a.m.; Coles County Memorial Airport at 8:45; Rest Haven Field of Honor at 9:15; Humboldt at 10:00; Cooks Mills at 10:30; and Zion Hill Church at 11:00. The annual wreath drop at Lake Mattoon will follow at 11:45.
Mattoon American Legion Post 88 will have Memorial Day services at Ash Grove Christian Church at 8:00 a.m.; Gays at 8:30; Dodge Grove Cemetery at 9:00; Calvary at 9:30; Mattoon City Hall of 10:00, and the Peterson Park memorials at 11:00 a.m.
The Charleston VFW and American Legion Post 93 will be at Roselawn Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., and Ashmore Cemetery at 11:00.
The Windsor American Legion’s services will start at 10:00 a.m. and the veteran’s memorial. Kansas and Westfield America Legion posts will have a service at Maple Hill Cemetery, or the Westfield Park pavilion in the event of rain, followed by a service at Fairview Cemetery at 11:00. Oakland VFW will have services on the square at 11:00
The service in T-town will be at St. Francis Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. Effingham American Legion Post 120 will be at St. Anthony Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. on Memorial Day, at Oak Ridge Cemetery at 10:30, followed by a ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery.
A Memorial Day Mass, followed by a military service will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the park in Sigel.
The Altamont American Legion will start with a 10:00 a.m. parade which will end at Union Cemetery. The ceremony there will begin at 11:00, and be followed by a cookout on the triangle on North Main Street.
Legion Post 611 of Stewardson will gather at the Stewardson Cemetery at 1:00.
Post 628 of Dieterich will be at the veteran’s memorial in Liberty Park at 10:00 a.m.
Cumberland County VFW, Greenup American Legion, and Toledo American Legion will be at Jewett Cemetery at 9:00 a.m.; Greenup Cemetery at 10:00; and the veteran’s memorial at the Life Center at 11:00 a.m.
The Neoga American Legion’s day will start with a service at the veteran’s memorial in Jennings Park at 8:00 a.m., followed by a tribute to Corporal Raymond L. Williams at Beals Cemetery near Trilla at 10:00.
