Doctors Dominate Testimony In SIU Student’s Murder Case
(Murphysboro, IL) — The cold killed Pravin Varughese, but prosecutors in his murder trial want to know how much damage a fight that Varughese got into before he ran into the cold, actually did. A pair of doctors yesterday dominated testimony in the murder case in southern Illinois. Two doctors who examined Varughese’s body testified yesterday. Both said the fight left some bruises on Varughese, but he didn’t have a concussion or any broken bones. Prosecutors say the fight with suspect Gaege Bethune drove Varughese into the woods outside of Carbondale, where he would die in February of 2014.
