(Undated) — Millions across the upper Midwest and Northern Plains are preparing for stormy, hot weather this weekend. Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain will stretch across the northern tier of the central U.S. Forecasters say flash flooding, damaging winds, lightning and tornadoes are possibilities. Excessive heat advisories are being issued in places like Minneapolis, Chicago and St. Louis this Father’s Day weekend. Hot and muggy conditions will prevail across much of the Southern and Central Plains, along with the Midwest.
