(Oak Ridge, TN) — Scientists say the world’s fastest supercomputer just might change the world. The world’s smartest and most powerful scientific supercomputer is located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The 200-million-dollar, water-cooled computer is called “Summit.” It’s able to handle 200 quadrillion calculations a second. Experts say this supercomputer may be able to do things like predict opioid addiction, advance fusion power, map Earth’s interior, reveal secrets about star dust and better understand climate change.
