Survey: Americans Too Busy For Vacation
(Washington, DC) — Nearly a quarter of Americans workers say their employer doesn’t provide them with paid vacation days or time off. That’s according to a new survey out today by the American Psychological Association. Even when an employer does offer vacation days, more than a quarter say they haven’t used any in the past six months, while more than 35 percent say they left days unused last year. While most people said vacations are important, nearly half said their employer actually encourages time off. Many said they just had too much work to do to even consider taking time off and others said they feel guilty if they do. Regardless of a company’s attitude toward time off, most people said they become more productive after taking a vacation.
