(Undated) — A popular drug used to control blood pressure is being recalled over a potential cancer risk. The drug Valsartan is being recalled in 22 countries because it contains a chemical that can cause tumors in the liver, kidney and respiratory tract. The recall involves about 23-hundred batches sent to mostly European countries and Canada. A spokesman for pharmaceutical company Novartis said the recall does not include products sold in the United States. The U.S.D.A. says it’s looking into the recall.
