(Undated) — The former U.S. airman whose radio show inspired Robin William’s character in “Good Morning, Vietnam” is dead at 79. Adrian Cronauer died Wednesday from age-related illness in a Virginia nursing home. In a statement, Cronauer’s family said the former U.S. Air Force sergeant, “loved the service men and service women all over the world, and always made time to personally engage with them.” Cronauer coauthored the story for the 1987 dramedy “Good Morning, Vietnam.” Robin Williams played a U.S. Army disc jockey partly based on Cronauer.
